Co-Creating Impact in Chapada dos Veadeiros

Each edition of REMOTE Immersion reminds us that meaningful events don’t just happen — they’re built with care, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose. More than ever, we believe our gatherings should be guided by genuine concern for the destinations that welcome us and grounded in real actions that leave a lasting, positive legacy.

As we prepare for REMOTE Immersion Chapada dos Veadeiros, from October 20th to 23rd, we celebrate another chapter in this ongoing journey — one co-created hand in hand with the local community and our REMOTE family. This year, we had the honor of collaborating with 28 regional suppliers, engaging more than 200 professionals across a wide range of areas— from audiovisual, transport, and catering to artists, guides, and activity providers. In addition, 20 accommodations in Alto Paraíso de Goiás will welcome our participants, helping bring this experience to life in the heart of the Cerrado.

Beyond connecting exceptional travel professionals, generating business, and sharing inspiring content and experiences — the very pillars that define us — our immersions are also about deepening our purpose as an event that listens, learns, and gives back.

Evolving Together, Responsibly

Since our 2018 edition in Las Catalinas, Costa Rica, we’ve been strengthening our commitment to positive change. What began with small give-back initiatives grew into something bigger with the launch of REMOTE Legacy in 2019, during our edition in Barichara, Colombia. This initiative offers free, open talks in the local language, bringing our guest speakers closer to host communities through meaningful exchanges of knowledge and inspiration.

Building on that foundation, since 2023 in Cuenca, Ecuador, REMOTE Legacy has become part of a broader sustainability strategy co-created with Regenera NGO, inspired by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Criteria and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The REMOTE Sustainability Strategy aims to reduce our footprint while amplifying positive impacts on each destination and its people — focusing on minimizing waste and single-use plastics, using resources responsibly, promoting local culture, fostering dialogue with communities, and offsetting our emissions.

As part of this strategy, we also carried out an active listening and consultation process with our host accommodations in Chapada dos Veadeiros, learning from their practices and challenges to strengthen our connection and better support the region’s journey toward sustainability.

Towards a Carbon-Neutral Event

To reduce our environmental impact, we’ve partnered with Compensei to measure and offset all event-related emissions — from accommodations, meals, and ground transportation to energy use, waste, and team flights — making REMOTE Immersion Chapada dos Veadeiros a carbon-neutral event. The offsets are made through the Senandes Corridor Project, a UN-certified wind farm located in southern Brazil. This initiative generates clean energy for the National Interconnected System, prevents the release of around 110,000 tons of CO₂ each year, and supports local development by creating jobs and income opportunities for rural landowners.

We also invite all REMOTERs to be part of this effort by offsetting their flight emissions through our Carbonometer. It’s quick, simple, and a small action that helps make our collective impact even greater.

Responsible Travel Guide to Chapada dos Veadeiros

To share our sustainability journey and inspire a more mindful experience in the destination, we’re once again offering our REMOTERs the Responsible Traveler’s Guide — filled with ideas and suggestions on how we can all be better guests to our hosts. We invite you to take a moment to read it, put some of its tips into practice, and share your thoughts or new ideas with us. Together, let’s be true ambassadors of Chapada dos Veadeiros and help protect everything that makes this place so unique.

REMOTE Legacy: Preparing Chapada for International Tourism

As part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the destinations and local communities that host us, we’re excited to present the 6th edition of REMOTE Legacy — and for the first time, it will be held entirely in Portuguese!

While the REMOTERs are in meetings on the morning of October 22nd, the REMOTE Stage in Alto Paraíso will welcome an inspiring lineup of speakers to explore the question: “How can Chapada dos Veadeiros better prepare for international tourism?”

We opened the doors of REMOTE Legacy in early October with a free online REMOTE Workshop that brought together over 50 participants to exchange ideas and discuss how Chapada dos Veadeiros can advance toward more responsible and regenerative tourism.

Now, REMOTE Legacy will host a morning of in-person sessions to continue these practical and open conversations, inspiring collaboration and dialogue among local professionals, students, and residents. By bridging international experience with local knowledge, this initiative seeks to empower the Chapada community to strengthen its identity as a responsible, world-class destination — one that grows with care, authenticity, and purpose.
