SHARE:

This October, REMOTE Immersion will journey to another unexpected and lesser-known corner of Latin America, a place where Brazil’s untamed wilderness, mystical energy, and rich cultural heritage come together in extraordinary harmony. Nestled in the heart of Brazil’s central region, in the state of Goiás, Chapada dos Veadeiros remains a hidden treasure for many international travelers, but it’s about to be unveiled to our REMOTERS.

Picture more than 300 crystal-clear waterfalls, ancient rock formations over 1.8 billion years old, otherworldly landscapes, vibrant traditional communities, and transformative experiences that linger long after you’ve returned home.

REMOTE Immersion Chapada dos Veadeiros

From October 20 to 23, we’ll gather in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, the gateway to Chapada dos Veadeiros and our host city for the 9th edition of our signature event, REMOTE Immersion. Alto Paraíso will welcome independent luxury lodges, boats, and DMCs from across Latin America and the Caribbean, together with high-end Travel Designers from around the world.

Over three days, REMOTE Immersion offers curated business meetings, immersive local experiences, moments for social connection, and inspiring talks, all designed to generate opportunities, strengthen meaningful partnerships, and encourage a collective effort to shape more transformative and responsible tourism in the region.

Stretching across more than 1,500 km² and spanning five municipalities — Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Cavalcante, São João d’Aliança, Colinas do Sul, and Teresina de Goiás — the Chapada dos Veadeiros region embraces canyons, mountains, valleys, scenic trails, lookouts, and countless waterfalls.

Chapada is a sanctuary for the remarkable Cerrado biome, the world’s most biodiverse savanna. It’s one of Brazil’s richest yet most threatened ecosystems, home to countless unique species and the birthplace of many of the country’s great rivers.

The region also protects one of Brazil’s 75 national parks: Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, which safeguards approximately 240,611 hectares of pristine Cerrado and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site since 2001. The park shelters some of the region’s most breathtaking waterfalls, viewpoints, and canyons, with trails for every level of adventure.

Beyond the park, other iconic sites await — from the lunar rock formations of Vale da Lua, to the stunning views from Mirante da Janela, and the endless green fields of Jardim de Maytrea, a sacred meadow where buriti palms and showers of wildflowers bloom, believed by some to guard a portal to another dimension.

Chapada’s Holistic Heartbeat

This extraordinary territory also rests atop immense beds of quartz crystal, radiating an energy that draws seekers of wellness, reconnection, and inner balance. REMOTE Immersion will harness this force, gathering its community in Chapada to foster meaningful connections, purposeful conversations, and collective impact. It’s a setting that embodies everything REMOTE stands for: authentic encounters, transformative travel, and deep respect for the places and people that welcome us.

Celebrated as one of Brazil’s leading wellness destinations, Chapada’s holistic soul thrives along the Viva Veadeiros Route — a network of therapists, healers, and guides offering experiences from forest bathing and sound healing to bioenergetic massage, chakra alignment, meditation, and shamanic rituals. Here, wellness is rooted in the land, and every practice invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with themselves and nature.

Welcome to the Kalunga Territory

Beyond the mystical landscapes lies another living story woven into the Cerrado’s fabric: the heritage of the Kalunga people. In Cavalcante, you’ll find Brazil’s largest quilombola territory, a refuge for Afrodescendant communities whose ancestors fled here over 200 years ago. The Kalunga maintain a deep relationship with the land, practicing ancestral farming, using fire to protect native grasslands, and welcoming travelers to witness the strength and beauty of their culture.

The Kalunga territory, a vast stretch of over 263,000 hectares of Cerrado, preserves 83% of its native vegetation, a stark contrast to the rest of Goiás, where only about 30% remains. It is also home to some of the region’s most striking waterfalls, including the surreal turquoise waters of Santa Bárbara.

Chapada dos Veadeiros will invite REMOTERS to slow down, reconnect, and open themselves to the healing energy of the land, where nature restores, culture nurtures, and every encounter becomes a path to deeper meaning.
