For our 11th edition of REMOTE Immersion, we are excited to return to Argentina. After experiencing the extraordinary landscapes and culture of Cafayate, we can’t wait to travel south, to the edge of our continent, where vast horizons, ancient glaciers, mountains, lakes, and open spaces seem to stretch forever. From October 4–8, 2027, we will gather in El Calafate, in Argentine Patagonia, marking the beginning of a new decade for REMOTE. And honestly, we could not imagine a better place to start this next chapter.
After ten years of traveling through Latin America, discovering extraordinary places and bringing our community together in destinations that invite us to slow down and connect, El Calafate feels like a natural and inspiring next step.
But what really drew us there is something beyond the landscape. Patagonia has a way of putting things into perspective. This is our invitation to go farther to get closer — an idea that has guided REMOTE since the very beginning. Distance and vastness are not obstacles in El Calafate. They’re part of the experience. They change the way we move, the way we interpret the world, and the way we relate to each other.
We are coming back to Argentina with open hearts — after the success of REMOTE Immersion Cafayate in 2022, returning to a country that has always welcomed our community so warmly. This time, we’re heading further south, to a region where nature takes center stage in a way that is impossible to ignore.
El Calafate, Capital of the Glaciers
Located in the heart of Argentine Patagonia, El Calafate is known as the Capital of the Glaciers and the gateway to some of the region’s most extraordinary glacial landscapes. The charming, walkable town sits on the southern shore of Lake Argentino, surrounded by mountains and immense open spaces, and provides access to Los Glaciares National Park, where ancient glaciers, turquoise waters, and Patagonian wilderness come together on a remarkable scale.
But for us, El Calafate is not simply about coming to see dramatic landscapes. It is about experiencing a destination where nature sets the rhythm of the journey and the sheer scale of the landscape invites us to see the world differently. This is also a land of pampas and open plains, where Gaucho traditions remain an important part of local identity, keeping alive a distinctive culture and knowledge shaped by generations of life in Patagonia.
What happens when your meeting room is a boat?
If you have been part of REMOTE for a while, you may remember that it all started on a boat. Our first two editions took place while sailing, with business meetings unfolding as participants experienced the destination together. Being completely offline was also part of what made those early editions so special, creating space to disconnect from the everyday and connect more deeply with each other.
Ten years later, it feels special to return to that spirit in the same way we did back in 2016. When we started imagining REMOTE Immersion in El Calafate, we knew we wanted to bring the idea back — this time, sailing through the extraordinary landscapes of Argentine Patagonia.
So, be prepared for a twist! Our sailing meetings are back, taking place on boats as we navigate the waters of Lake Argentino, with the landscapes of Patagonia surrounding us and a different iconic glacier providing the backdrop each day: Upsala, Spegazzini, and Perito Moreno.
A REMOTE Immersion shaped by Patagonia
The boat meetings will be at the heart of the program, but they are only part of what we are planning for El Calafate. As in every REMOTE Immersion, the destination will shape the experience, with curated afternoon activities designed to introduce participants to the region’s natural and cultural heritage.
The event will still have the elements our community knows and loves: focused business meetings, inspiring content, immersive experiences, and the informal moments in between where new friendships, collaborations, and business relationships often begin.
We will also intentionally leave one evening free from the official program, giving REMOTERs the opportunity to explore El Calafate on their own. Walk through town, discover a local restaurant, meet up with friends, or simply take some time to enjoy the destination at their own pace. Sometimes, leaving a little space in the schedule is the best way to discover a place.
A new decade, with the same REMOTE spirit
Ten years on, our essence remains the same. We believe strong and lasting business relationships are built when people share experiences, step outside the traditional trade show format, and have the opportunity to truly experience a destination before introducing it to their clients.
We are also carrying forward REMOTE’s commitment to positive-impact tourism and sustainability, with initiatives designed around the destination and its communities. As always, the goal is not simply to bring travel professionals to a beautiful place, but to engage thoughtfully with the territory, minimize the event’s environmental impact, and contribute to a more responsible travel industry.
There is still a lot to design and work on between now and October 2027, and that is part of the fun. REMOTE Immersion is a year-round process, shaped by our team and, importantly, by the ideas, feedback, and contributions of our community.
