No other REMOTE event had been more anticipated, more carefully planned or more deserving of success than the Immersion in Cafayate, Argentina. After two years of our annual gathering being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fifth edition finally marked the REMOTE Latin America Community’s return to the road — reconnecting in person with colleagues and partners, and embracing experiences impossible to replicate online.
The setting could not have been more fitting for celebratory toasts. The colorful, arid landscapes of Salta, in northern Argentina at the foothills of the Andes, frame the charming town of Cafayate. A paradise for wine lovers, it’s known for producing some of the world’s finest high-altitude grapes, particularly Torrontés.
The reunions were emotional from the start. The first ever REMOTE Pre-Immersion was held the day before the main event as an exclusive opportunity for lodgings and local expert exhibitors to connect with one another.
From that point on, over the four days of the REMOTE Immersion, participants celebrated the return of face-to-face encounters — handshakes, hugs and shared laughter during meetings, meals, nature and cultural activities, content sessions, and wine tastings hosted at carefully selected local venues.
Another highlight of the Immersion in Argentina was the initiative of hosting dinners in town. One evening, REMOTERS had the opportunity to experience the authentic atmosphere of downtown Cafayate — savoring empanadas salteñas and Argentina’s famous grilled meats at recommended local restaurants. It was also a chance to experience the vibrant live music of traditional peñas and, of course, to raise a glass of excellent wine and toast to life.
