As October came to a close, we celebrated another incredible REMOTE Immersion, our seventh, which brought us back to a beloved destination — Chile. This being the first time our event returned to a country, we experienced the thrills of welcoming new participants, seeing familiar faces again, finding fresh sources of inspiration and nurturing the purposeful connections that lie at the heart of REMOTE.
Each Immersion reminds us that our greatest strength lies in the warmth of in-person interactions, the genuine embraces and the bonds that endure long after we part ways. This experience wouldn’t be possible without the passion and commitment of our REMOTE Community, who join us wholeheartedly on this journey. Our deepest gratitude goes out to our wonderful local hosts, Hotel Termas de Puyehue, our esteemed host sponsors from Chile Travel and the welcoming community of Puyehue. Thank you for co-creating this unforgettable event with us!
Amid the tranquil beauty of Puyehue in Chile’s Lake District, we brought together a vibrant network of tourism leaders, including representatives from 90 luxury hotels, boats and DMCs across 16 Latin American countries, as well as 90 Travel Designers from 19 countries. REMOTERs got together for three mornings of business meetings with up to 17 pre-matched appointments per day.
After lively mornings filled with dynamic meetings, our REMOTERS were able to unwind by choosing from 15 curated outdoor, cultural and wellness activities — each designed to immerse them in the unique charm of Puyehue. In addition to exploring the destination, the activities are also great opportunities to network in a more laid back setting, allowing REMOTERs to build deeper relationships that go beyond the 12-minute business appointments.
The magic of this gathering is captured in our highlights video — take a look and relive the unforgettable moments!
Caretakers of the Earth: REMOTE Talks & Seeds Bring Together Tourism Visionaries
This year’s REMOTE Talks & Seeds in Puyehue was nothing short of inspiring, gathering visionary leaders in tourism and conservation to explore the theme Caretakers of the Earth. As a community with the privilege of traveling and promoting tourism to some of Latin America’s most extraordinary and remote natural destinations, we took time to reflect on the pressing need to protect both nature and people. REMOTE Talks & Seeds continues to serve as a platform for deep, thought-provoking discussions, fostering dialogues on community engagement, conservation and regenerative practices that extend far beyond tourism.
These inspiring talks will be gradually posted on our YouTube channel. Don’t miss out —follow the link and join the conversation!

Empowering Communities and Leaving a Positive Impact
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, which we strive to strengthen each year, we proudly celebrated another edition of REMOTE Legacy. This year, in collaboration with the Municipality of Puyehue, we hosted a series of free lectures in Spanish at the Casa de la Cultura in Entre Lagos. These talks offered invaluable opportunities for the local community to engage with themes of responsible tourism, regeneration and conservation. Approximately 80 students, tourism professionals and community members joined the conversation on the morning of October 16th.
We also launched REMOTE Mentorship, an initiative that invited ten local entrepreneurs to participate in enriching sessions on business and international tourism. This platform was designed to share insights and guidance, empowering local talent as they advance on their paths to growth and innovation. Through these humble efforts, we hope to give back to the remarkable destinations and communities that warmly welcome us.
Aligned with our Sustainability Strategy, we worked closely with local suppliers to minimize our environmental footprint during the event while extending positive impacts beyond it. In just three and a half days, we estimate we prevented the use of more than 5,200 plastic bottles. Additionally, in partnership with Fundación Reforestemos, we offset 64 tons of greenhouse gas emissions from the event. As part of this effort, we will plant 213 trees, supporting reforestation projects with rural landowners on Chiloé Island in Chile’s Lake District.

Outcomes of the REMOTE Immersion 2024
Each year, after our event, we conduct a satisfaction survey to understand our strengths and identify areas for improvement. We were pleased to see that 95.4% of Exhibitors rated the selection of Travel Designers with a score of 4 or 5 (out of 5), while 95.8% of Travel Designers gave the same ratings to the Exhibitors. Additionally, 100% of participants indicated they are likely to recommend REMOTE Immersion to a colleague in the tourism industry.
