Maitei is a tropical lodge that embodies the culture of Bahia, inviting guests to connect with the essence and people of Arraial D’Ajuda, a village on the south coast of the state.
Maitei means “greetings” in the indigenous language of Tupi Guarani, representing a warm welcome. Local is the perfect word to describe Maitei’s philosophy - from the fresh seasonal ingredients on the menu, signed by chef Fernanda Possa, to the furniture and artwork that shape its unique design.
IT’S REMOTE BECAUSE its 17 suites accommodate guests in privacy atop a small hill, facing the beach. Cultural and adventure experiences, such as parasailing, horseback riding, arts and crafts and capoeira are also available.
