ART AND HISTORY
IN THE MOUNTAINS

Colombia’s most beautiful hidden village, Barichara, Santander, is still a secret kept from many foreigners. It looks like nothing has changed over the last 300 years, and feels like you traveled back in time.

Despite the peaceful rhythm of the 7,000 inhabitants, the town on the outskirts of the Chicamocha Canyon, one of the most impressive in the world, is also the perfect setting for outdoor adventures.

Cobblestone streets surrounded by whitewashed houses with red tiles serve as the background against which artisans have been handcrafting ceramics and textiles for centuries, since the colonial era.

Its name originated from the word barachalá, which in the local Guane dialect means “a nice place for rest.” It will be our venue for four days of immersion and discovery. A peaceful atmosphere to slowly build long-lasting connections.
